Effect of graphite and MoS2 based solid lubricants for application at wheel-rail interface on the wear mechanism and surface morphology of hypereutectoid rails

Summary: The study found that graphite-based solid lubricants are effective at reducing friction coefficients, enhancing wear resistance, and extending component lifespan under high creep conditions. Meanwhile, MoS2-based lubricants did not effectively reduce friction coefficients at high creepages and resulted in significant wear.
