Composite pulses for high fidelity population transfer in three-level systems

Zhi-Cheng Shi et al.

Summary: In this work, a composite pulses scheme is proposed to achieve high fidelity population transfer in three-level systems by modulating phases. A cost function is introduced to find the optimal value, ensuring accurate population transfer and suppressing leakage state population. The results demonstrate robustness against coupling coefficient deviations and the scheme can be extended to arbitrary pulse sequences.

Enhanced Phonon Blockade in a Weakly Coupled Hybrid System via Mechanical Parametric Amplification

Yan Wang et al.

Summary: The study proposes a method for achieving strong phonon blockade in a hybrid spin-mechanical system under weak-coupling conditions, demonstrating specific operations to achieve this goal. The research shows that strong phonon blockade can be achieved in the hybrid system, along with flexible adjustment of phonon statistics, which is of great significance for applications in quantum phononics and phononic quantum networks.

Chiral Discrimination via Shortcuts to Adiabaticity and Optimal Control

Wei-Wei Ding et al.

Summary: This article proposes a protocol to distinguish chiral molecules using a cyclic three-level structure. By applying non-resonant microwave pulses to drive the transition of chiral molecules from their ground states to dressed-states with different eigenenergies, a chirality-selective transition is achieved. Control pulses that are resistant to systematic errors are designed to achieve maximal population difference between molecules with different chirality.

Composite Short-Path Nonadiabatic Holonomic Quantum Gates

Yan Liang et al.

Summary: This study presents the implementation of nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computation (NHQC) with the shortest path using inverse Hamiltonian engineering technique, which offers higher fidelity and stronger robustness. The gate performance in this scheme can be further improved by using composite dynamical decoupling pulses. This scheme represents a promising progress towards future fault-tolerant quantum computation.

Acoustic wavelength-selected metamaterials designed by reversed fractional stimulated Raman adiabatic passage

Shuai Tang et al.

Summary: We have achieved an analog of the reversed f-STIRAP phenomenon in an acoustic system by designing acoustic metamaterials. The agreement between analytical and simulated results confirms the similarity between the propagation of acoustic waves and the evolution of reversed f-STIRAP in quantum optics. The constructed acoustic metamaterials have optional functions such as beam focusing, beam splitting, or asymmetric transmission with switchable features, depending on the wavelength of the incident acoustic wave.

Robust population inversion in three-level systems by composite pulses

Cheng Zhang et al.

Summary: In this work, we achieved robust population inversion in a three-level quantum system using the idea of composite pulses. By modulating the coupling strength and eliminating high-order error terms, the scheme compensates for systematic errors to any desired order, ensuring population inversion even under waveform deformations.

Shortcuts to Adiabaticity for the Quantum Rabi Model: Efficient Generation of Giant Entangled Cat States via Parametric Amplification

Ye-Hong Chen et al.

Summary: The proposed method utilizes shortcuts-to-adiabatic dynamics to quickly generate nonclassical ground states of the Rabi model in ultrastrong and deep-strong coupling regimes by applying parametric amplification to the Jaynes-Cummings model. The STA protocol can produce large-size Schrodinger cat states faster, approximately 10 times, than adiabatic protocols, enhancing protocol robustness against dissipation and imperfections. The ability to freely design the parametric drive and robustness against experiment operation imperfections make this method promising for practical applications.

Robust single-qubit gates by composite pulses in three-level systems

Zhi-Cheng Shi et al.

Summary: Composite pulses are shown to be efficient for implementing robust single-qubit gates in a three-level system, providing resistance to errors in a specific direction. Increasing the number of pulses in the sequence makes the fidelity insensitive to variations in all directions, resulting in a wider robustness region. Applications of composite pulses in quantum information processing, such as quantum information transfer between two qubits, are also demonstrated.

Summary: A superconducting qutrit-resonator chain model is proposed, with analytically derived forms of its topological edge states and the generation of N-body GHZ states with robustness. Three schemes for generating large-scale GHZ states are designed, each with the ability to handle qutrit or resonator losses, showing potential for high fidelity among dozens of qutrits. Additionally, experimental considerations for generating GHZ states based on the circuit QED system and the prospect of fast GHZ state realization are discussed.
