Analysis and Evaluation of the Photovoltaic Market in Poland and the Baltic States

Ewa Chomac-Pierzecka et al.

Summary: The household, industrial, and service sectors in Poland and the Baltic States are facing increasing electricity costs due to the pandemic's financial impact. Rising inflation, border restrictions, and the fourth wave of COVID-19 have led to concerns about electricity price hikes. Countries are implementing measures to address this issue, focusing on renewable energy sources like solar power. Among the studied countries, Poland has experienced the highest increase in electricity prices but also a strong trend in photovoltaic development. The authors aim to explore the energy market situation in Poland and the Baltic States and analyze its potential for development amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Wind Energy Market in Poland in the Background of the Baltic Sea Bordering Countries in the Era of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Ewa Chomac-Pierzecka et al.

Summary: The economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the problem of rising electricity prices, particularly affecting countries that are obliged to pay higher CO2 emission allowance fees like Poland. In light of the urgent development of the wind energy market in the Baltic Sea region, the authors emphasize the importance of examining this issue in Poland and the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia). The study aims to assess the development of the wind energy market in Poland in relation to the Baltic Sea countries during the COVID-19 pandemic and identify potential directions for wind energy development that could help mitigate electricity price increases.

Foreign direct investment inflow, economic growth, energy consumption, globalization, and carbon dioxide emission around the world

Bashir Muhammad et al.

Summary: Based on the analysis of panel data from 1990 to 2018 in 170 countries, this study found that exports of natural resources, export of fuel resources, export of ore and metal resources, urbanization, economic globalization, and political globalization contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while energy consumption, social globalization, foreign direct investment, and economic growth lead to an increase in carbon dioxide emissions. The study recommends policy makers to prioritize the implementation of environmentally friendly equipment to curb carbon dioxide emissions.
