False Data Injection Attacks Against Partial Sensor Measurements of Networked Control Systems

Zhong-Hua Pang et al.

Summary: This paper addresses the issue of false data injection (FDI) attacks on partial sensor measurements of a networked stochastic system. A partial FDI attack strategy is presented, which injects false signals into the feedback communication channel to disrupt the performance of a Kalman filter based output tracking control system. The paper derives the stealthiness condition of the attack and its impact on the closed-loop system, which differs from existing work on FDI attacks against all sensor measurements. The research contributes to ensuring secure control of networked systems by protecting critical sensor measurements from FDI attacks.

Distributed non-fragile set-membership filtering for nonlinear systems under fading channels and bias injection attacks

Lei Liu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the secure distributed set-membership filtering problem for general nonlinear systems over wireless sensor networks. Bias injection attacks and channel fading of wireless communication are taken into account in filter design. By using LMI technique and Taylor's expansion formula, nonlinearity, channel fading, bias injection attacks, and non-fragility are handled simultaneously to address the filter design problem. Sufficient conditions are obtained for pre-specified filtering performance, and an optimal algorithm is proposed for locally best performance. Simulation example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed secure filtering algorithm.
