This article provides an overview of the synthetic process routes and applications of Lithium difluorosulfimide (LiFSI), a fluorine-containing lithium salt, as well as the current status of its industrialization.
Lithium difluorosulfimide (LiFSI) is a type of fluorine-containing lithium salt. It was first industrialized by Nippon Shokubai and has attracted extensive attention for its excellent performances in the electrolyte of lithium battery. LiFSI is expected to be the next generation major electrolyte in lithium battery instead of LiPF6 and has a very large market in future. In this article, we looked back the mainstream synthetic process routes of the material and gave a perspective on its applications as well as the present status of industrialization.
