Variation of coating thickness in blade coating process of an upper-convected Jeffery's fluid model

Zaheer Abbas et al.

Summary: The study on blade coating process shows that increasing the Weissenberg number and viscosities ratio results in reduced coating thickness and increased blade load, making them important controlling parameters. Additionally, these parameters have significant impacts on the velocity and pressure profiles.

Calendering analysis of non-isothermal viscous nanofluid containingCu-water nanoparticles using two co-rotating rolls

Zaheer Abbas et al.

Summary: This study conducts a non-isothermal analysis of the calendering process using a water-based nanofluid with Cu-nanoparticles. The impact of nanoparticle volume fraction on various parameters is discussed, showing enhancements in pressure, temperature distribution, power input, and roll-separating force for higher nanoparticle volume fractions. Model II of dynamic viscosity of nanofluid has a greater impact on physical parameters compared to Model I.

Study of Slip Effects in Reverse Roll Coating Process Using Non-Isothermal Couple Stress Fluid

Hasan Shahzad et al.

Summary: The study focused on non-isothermal couple stress fluid inside a reverse roll coating geometry with slip conditions at the surfaces of the rolls. Mathematical modeling was used to develop flow equations based on conservation of momentum, mass, and energy, employing lubrication approximation theory to simplify the equations and obtaining closed form solutions for velocity, temperature, and pressure gradient. Numerical methods were used to determine pressure and flow rate, and the parameters were shown to have significant impacts on physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, pressure gradient, and flow rate within the system.

Modeling of an isothermal flow of a magnetohydrodynamic, viscoplastic fluid during forward roll coating process

M. Zahid et al.

Summary: This study examines the isothermal and incompressible flow of a magnetohydrodynamic viscoplastic fluid passing through the area between two co-rotating rolls. By applying lubrication approximation theory, the basic flow equations are derived and non-dimensionalized. The results show that the magnetic field has a significant influence on engineering parameters in the coating process.
