Effect of Na Doping on the Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production of Ferroelectric K1-xNaxNbO3 Nanofibers

Tianjin Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, perovskite ferroelectric K1-xNaxNbO3 nanofibers were prepared by electro-spinning, and the effects of Na doping on the photocatalytic hydrogen production were investigated. The results showed that the K1-xNaxNbO3 nanofibers with x=0.5 exhibited the highest hydrogen production rates under simulated sunlight and visible light irradiation. The enhanced photocatalytic activity under simulated sunlight irradiation may be attributed to the negative shift of the conduction band edge and the distortion of the NbO6 octahedron, while the visible light response may be related to the shrinkage distortion of the NbO6 octahedron. Furthermore, the polarization of K0.5Na0.5NbO3 nanofibers under visible light irradiation increased the rate of carrier separation by the internal depolarization field.

A facile synthesis of g-C3N4/BaTiO3 photocatalyst with enhanced activity for degradation of methylene blue under visible light

Van Kim Nguyen et al.

Summary: In this study, a g-C3N4/BaTiO3 composite was prepared and characterized, showing enhanced photocatalytic activity compared to the individual components. The improvement was attributed to the reduced combination rate of photogenerated electron-hole pairs in the composite, leading to higher catalytic performance.

Enhanced photocatalytic reduction of mercuric cations endorsing fabricated mesoporous BiFeO3/g-C3N4 heterojunction under Vis light irradiation

Maha Alhaddad et al.

Summary: This study successfully achieved enhanced photocatalytic reduction of mercuric cations using a novel mesoporous BiFeO3/g-C3N4 heterojunction, with the efficiency improving as the percentage of BiFeO3 nanoparticles increased. The superior performance was attributed to the small particle size of BiFeO3 NPs and their excellent dispersion over the g-C3N4 nanosheet surface.
