Examining the determinants of eHealth usage among elderly people with disability: The moderating role of behavioural aspects

Mohammad Afshar Ali et al.

Summary: This study reveals a significant digital divide among elderly people with disabilities, with factors such as educational attainment, employment, household income, and access to ICT playing a role in predicting the likelihood of using eHealth services. Age and resistive attitudinal barriers towards ICT also influence the probability of eHealth use among elderly PwD. Efforts to increase ICT infrastructure availability and provide training could help bridge this gap.

Older Patients' Competence, Preferences, and Attitudes Toward Digital Technology Use: Explorative Study

Rikke Terp et al.

Summary: Malnutrition is common in older patients and can lead to severe consequences. A tablet-based eHealth solution was introduced to support older patients in making healthier food choices. The study found that older patients are potential users of ICT, but face barriers such as health challenges, limited digital literacy, and low self-efficacy in using technology. Support targeting their knowledge, skills, and motivation is important when introducing older patients to eHealth.
