On local strong and classical solutions to the three-dimensional barotropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations with vacuum

Xiangdi Huang

Summary: The paper examines the local well-posedness of strong and classical solutions to the three-dimensional barotropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations with density containing vacuum initially. It first proves the local existence and uniqueness of strong solutions by removing the initial compatibility condition proposed by previous researchers in a suitable sense. Furthermore, it derives the continuous dependence of strong solutions on the initial data under an additional compatibility condition, and shows that for initial data satisfying certain regularity and compatibility conditions, the strong solution is a classical one.

Global strong solutions to the 3D viscous liquid-gas two-phase flow model

Haibo Yu

Summary: This paper investigates strong solutions to the 3D viscous liquid-gas two-phase flow model with initial vacuum. It proves the global existence of strong solutions under the assumption that initial data is small. A major advancement compared to previous results is the allowance of initial masses of liquid and gas to contain vacuum regions, as well as the establishment of higher-order estimates for the two masses and pressure without any constraints between the initial masses of liquid and gas.

On global solutions to a viscous compressible two-fluid model with unconstrained transition to single-phase flow in three dimensions

Summary: This study investigates the Dirichlet problem for a compressible two-fluid model in multi-dimensions, showing the existence of global weak solutions. The key innovation compared to previous works is the allowance for transitions to single-phase flows without constraints.
