Manganese-doped tungsten disulfide microcones as binder-free electrode for high performance asymmetric supercapacitor

Milan Babu Poudel et al.

Summary: This study developed manganese-doped tungstate sulfide microcones as binder-free electrode material for supercapacitors. The experimental results showed significantly improved electrochemical activity and cyclic stability compared to pure tungstate sulfide due to additional ion diffusion channels. The enhanced electrochemical performance can be attributed to the unique structural features of the microcones arrays, which allow high accessibility to electrolyte ions. Additionally, the researchers found that manganese ions had a positive effect on the electrochemical properties of the microcones.

Two-dimensional MoS2/Mn-MOF/multi-walled carbon nanotubes composite material for high-performance supercapacitors

Wenhao Peng et al.

Summary: A series of MoS2 and Mn metal organic frameworks (Mn-MOF) were synthesized, and then mixed with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) in different mass ratios to be applied for supercapacitors. The best electrochemical performance was achieved when the mass ratio of MoS2:Mn-MOF:MWCNT was 1:4:1.

Layer-by-Layer Assembly of Reduced Graphene Oxide and MXene Nanosheets for Wire-Shaped Flexible Supercapacitors

Junyeong Yun et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the use of the layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly technique to create wire-shaped supercapacitors (WSCs) with enhanced capacitance, energy density, and power density. The WSCs consist of alternating layers of positively charged reduced graphene oxide functionalized with poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) and negatively charged Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets conformally deposited on activated carbon yarns. The LbL coatings on carbon yarns show promise as linear energy storage devices for fibrous electronics.
