Judd-Ofelt analysis and visible luminescence of Sm3+: MCZBP glass for reddish-orange laser and multi-colour display applications

K. Mariselvam et al.

Summary: A new series of Sm3+ ions doped magnesium cadmium zinc borophosphate glasses were prepared and characterized with various techniques, showing that increasing the concentration of Sm3+ ions affects the density, refractive index, and molar volume of the glass, and the optical band gap was determined through optical absorption spectra. The emission spectra revealed the presence of four emissions corresponding to different transitions, with potential applications in laser and multi-colour display technologies.
