PGC7 promotes tumor oncogenic dedifferentiation through remodeling DNA methylation pattern for key developmental transcription factors

Qian Yan et al.

Summary: In poorly differentiated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the maternal factor PGC7 is found to be closely associated with liver development and tumor differentiation. PGC7 plays a role in inducing promoter demethylation of genes related to development, leading to downstream effects on key developmental transcription factors. Inhibition of PGC7/GLI1/MYCN might reverse poorly differentiated HCCs and provide new therapeutic strategies.

RALYL increases hepatocellular carcinoma stemness by sustaining the mRNA stability of TGF-β2

Xia Wang et al.

Summary: Studies have shown that RALYL, a liver progenitor specific gene, regulates HCC stemness by sustaining TGF-beta 2 mRNA stability, which may inspire precise therapeutic strategies for HCC.
