This research proposes a new method for producing polymer microparticles, and evaluates the critical conditions of microparticles using an electro-centrifuge spinning system. The results show that the number of particles increases with solution concentration and the particle size decreases with voltage. At high rotating speeds, the particles stick together before drying, creating a smooth surface.
This research proposed a new method for making polymer microparticles. Polyvinylpyrrolidone was used in concentrations of 1-5%. First, the critical conditions of microparticles were evaluated through the electro-centrifuge spinning system. The critical voltage, rotating speed, and solution concentration were obtained. The results showed that the number of particles increased in each solution concentration and the particle size decreased with increasing the voltage. Also, as the rotating speed increases, the particles reach the bed before drying, thus sticking to each other and creating a smooth surface. However, at high voltages, the particles stick less to each other.
