Summary: Six heterobimetallic alkali metal dioxidovanadium(V) coordination polymer complexes {[M-6{VO(mu-O)}(2)(mu-OH)(4)(mu(4)-slox/nph)].n DMF}(infinity) were synthesized and characterized, with the structure of one complex determined by X-ray diffraction. These complexes showed strong protein binding affinity and catalytic activity for alcohol oxidation and bromination of organic substrates.

The bio-molecular interactions, antioxidant activity, and apoptotic cell death induction of the complexes were also studied, indicating their potential for further research.

Anticancer activity of a new copper(ii) complex with a hydrazone ligand. Structural and spectroscopic characterization, computational simulations and cell mechanistic studies on 2D and 3D breast cancer cell models

Summary: The study presents a copper-hydrazone complex with anticancer activity against human breast cancer cells on 2D and 3D models, showing higher efficacy than cisplatin. Molecular docking and dynamics simulations revealed CuHL's interaction with DNA, inducing cell programmed death and genotoxic effects. The compound also decreased breast cancer stem cell population and overcame cisplatin's efficacy on multicellular spheroids.
