Surface oxygen plasma modification of screen-printed carbon electrode for quantitative determination of sunset yellow and tartrazine in foods

Summary: In this study, a simple and effective electrochemical method using inexpensive screen-printed carbon electrode was developed for the determination of synthetic food dyes. The electrode's catalytic activity was improved by non-thermal dielectric barrier discharge plasma treatment, and the optimal operating conditions were determined. The method showed good linearity and low detection limits for the analyzed dyes.
