Preparation of eco-friendly adsorbent for enhancing CO2 adsorption capacity

Farihahusnah Hussin et al.

Summary: The study investigated the potential of using adsorbent derived from agricultural by-product-based activated carbon functionalized by deep eutectic solvents for CO2 capturing. The modified AC with TBAB and TEG showed the highest CO2 adsorption capacity, indicating favorable and spontaneous adsorption process. Regeneration evaluation demonstrated that the modified AC sample was reusable for more than nine cycles.

Investigating the Variation in Solvation Interactions of Choline Chloride-Based Deep Eutectic Solvents Formed Using Different Hydrogen Bond Donors

Nabeel Mujtaba Abbasi et al.

Summary: This study utilized inverse gas chromatography to investigate the solvation characteristics of choline chloride and acetate-based DESs, revealing that hydrogen bond acidity plays a dominant role in all DESs, with the position of hydroxyl functional groups in HBDs affecting solvation interactions. Choline acetate-based DESs exhibited lower dipolarity and stronger hydrogen bond basicity and dispersive-type interactions compared to choline chloride DESs. The developed solvation models could predict the performance of choline chloride-based DESs in various applications.
