Investigation of the Effects of Rapid Thermal Annealing on the Electron Transport Mechanism in Nitrogen-Doped ZnO Thin Films Grown by RF Magnetron Sputtering

Simeon Simeonov et al.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen-doped zinc oxide (ZnO:N) thin films were deposited on Si(100) substrates and analyzed for their spectroscopic and electron transport characteristics. The introduction of nitrogen resulted in defects related to oxygen and zinc vacancies, and the films exhibited different conductivity properties depending on the annealing temperature. Furthermore, the electron transport mechanism was found to be mainly governed by deep levels in the ZnO energy gap.

Tuning the Structure, Magnetic, and High Frequency Properties of Sc-Doped Sr0.5Ba0.5ScxFe12-xO19/NiFe2O4 Hard/Soft Nanocomposites

Muhirah A. Almessiere et al.

Summary: This study investigates the synthesis and magnetic properties of Sr0.5Ba0.5ScxFe12-xO19/NiFe2O4 hard-soft nanocomposites, revealing that samples with Sc3+ doping exhibit complete exchange coupling behavior, while the saturation and remanent magnetizations decrease with increasing Sc content. Strong electromagnetic absorption was observed in all samples, with potential applications in high-frequency devices and radar-absorbing technology.

Study of the effect of ion irradiation on increasing the photocatalytic activity of WO3 microparticles

Artem L. Kozlovskiy et al.

Summary: This study investigated the use of low-energy helium ion irradiation to enhance the photocatalytic activity of tungsten oxide microparticles, specifically for the decomposition of Rhodamine B. The results showed that irradiation led to increased reaction rates, mineralization levels, and efficiency in removing COD from aqueous solutions. Additionally, cyclic tests indicated that the modified microparticles exhibited resistance to degradation, with retention of decomposition efficiency even after multiple cycles.

Phase transformations in FeCo - Fe2CoO4/Co3O4-spinel nanostructures as a result of thermal annealing and their practical application

M. V. Zdorovets et al.

Summary: This research found that the formation of oxide spinel structures of type Fe2CoO4/Co3O4 through thermal annealing can increase the number of cycles for nanotubes by 1.5-1.7 times. The effectiveness of increasing the lifetime of anode materials is attributed to the enhanced resistance to degradation of Fe2CoO4/Co3O4 structures, leading to the acceleration of lithation processes.

Excitonic properties of layer-by-layer CVD grown ZnO hexagonal microdisks

Mrinal K. Sikdar et al.

Summary: This study investigated the excitonic properties of highly crystalline ZnO hexagonal microdisks grown by chemical vapor deposition, indicating that a negative catalyst like chlorine can suppress crystal growth along the (0001) direction. A qualitative model was proposed to explain the layer-by-layer growth mechanism of the microdisks, with room temperature photoluminescence showing a high NBE emission peak and a minor defect peak. Low-temperature photoluminescence down to 83 K revealed surface exciton peaks in the NBE region and well-fitted higher-order phonon replicas.

Munirah A. Almessiere et al.

Summary: The study synthesized spinel ferrite nanocomposites with different ratios using sol-gel and pulsed laser ablation approaches to tune their magnetic properties. It was found that the magnetic parameters of nanocomposites synthesized by sol-gel route were stronger than those synthesized by PLAL. Some nanocomposite samples exhibited stronger magnetic data compared to individual Co0.5Ni0.5Ga0.01Gd0.01Fe1.98O4 nanoparticles at low temperatures.
