Microsheets like nickel cobalt phosphate thin films as cathode for hybrid asymmetric solid-state supercapacitor: Influence of nickel and cobalt ratio variation

Summary: A rational combination of metal cations is necessary for improved electrochemical energy storage performance of bimetal compounds. Adjusting the ratio of nickel and cobalt can enhance the physicochemical properties and electrochemical capacitive performances of nickel cobalt phosphate materials. The synergy between nickel and cobalt species in the thin film electrodes contributes to the excellent electrochemical capacitive performance of hybrid asymmetric devices.

Facile Synthesis of Bimetal Nickel Cobalt Phosphate Nanostructures for High-Performance Hybrid Supercapacitors

Summary: In this study, bimetal nickel-cobalt phosphate nanostructures were successfully synthesized on nickel foam for hybrid supercapacitors by a facile one-step electrodeposition method. The optimized NiCoP/NF2 electrode exhibited excellent capacitive performance with high specific capacity, good rate performance, and high coulombic efficiency. The proposed electrodeposition synthesis process and the prepared NiCoP composites show great potential for applications in energy storage technology.

3D frame-like architecture of N-C-incorporated mixed metal phosphide boosting ultrahigh energy density pouch-type supercapacitors

Summary: In this study, a three-dimensional hollow open frame-like architecture nickel cobalt phosphate with nitrogen-doped carbon was used as a functional electrode for supercapacitors, delivering remarkable electrochemical performance in terms of high capacitance and long cycling longevity. The hybrid supercapacitor device assembled also exhibited ultrahigh energy density at a maximum power density. The superior performance can be attributed to the specific characteristics of the material, such as 3D nanostructures, phosphorus introduction, bimetal enhancement, and nitrogen-doped carbon.

Three-dimensional hollow nickel phosphate microspheres with controllable hoya-like structure for high-performance enzymeless glucose detection and supercapacitor

Summary: Three-dimensional hollow hoya-like nickel phosphate microspheres derived from nickel metal-organic frameworks were synthesized and the temperature influence on the morphological and compositional evolutions, as well as electrochemical performance, was investigated. The as-designed NiP calcinated at 450°C showed outstanding performance as an enzymeless glucose sensor and supercapacitor, with high sensitivity and low detection limit for glucose detection, and high specific capacity and exceptional rate performance for supercapacitor application.

NiCo2O4 nanoneedle-nanosheet hybrid structure on CC substrate for high-performance flexible supercapacitors

Summary: In this study, three different morphologies of NiCo2O4 nanoarrays were successfully prepared on flexible carbon cloth by a hydrothermal method. The hybrid nanostructure showed the best supercapacitive performance, with high specific capacitance, excellent rate capability, cycling stability, and energy density. The flexible solid-state asymmetric supercapacitor made with the hybrid nanostructure as the positive electrode exhibited great capacity retention and outstanding energy density, indicating its potential application in flexible energy storage devices.

One-step growth of NiCoAl layered double hydroxides microspheres toward high energy density supercapacitors
