A novel CoSeO3 photocatalyst assisting g-C3N4 in enhancing hydrogen evolution through Z scheme mode

Ting Feng et al.

Summary: A novel CoSeO3/g-C3N4 composite photocatalyst with Z-scheme heterostructure was synthesized through electrostatic self-assembly for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. The hybrid material exhibited an optimal photocatalytic H-2 evolution rate and apparent quantum yield (AQY) that were approximately 65.4 times higher than those of pure g-C3N4 under full light irradiation without noble metal cocatalyst loading. The introduction of CoSeO3 semiconductor and the formation of a sheet-sheet structure in the CoSeO3/g-C3N4 hybrids were responsible for the enhanced photocatalytic activity.
