Hydrogen Sorption and Rehydrogenation Properties of NaMgH3

Luis Contreras et al.

Summary: The formation and hydrogen sorption properties of the NaMgH3 perovskite/type hydride were studied, and it was found that the lattice parameters and cell volume of the main NaMgH3 phase increased with milling time. The NaMgH3 hydride milled for 2 hours released the highest amount of hydrogen, which could be reversibly hydrogenated at about 200 degrees Celsius.

High-throughput computational screening of oxide double perovskites for optoelectronic and photocatalysis applications

Xiaowei Jiang et al.

Summary: In this study, stable oxide double perovskites were comprehensively screened from a pool of candidates using a high-throughput computational approach. By considering a tolerance factor-octahedral factor phase diagram, 21 stable perovskites were predicted, with 14 of them being reported for the first time. Verification with existing experimental results demonstrated an accuracy of approximately 90% in predicting perovskite formability. The newly predicted oxide double perovskites show potential for applications in optoelectronics and photocatalysis.

Group-III-nitride and halide-perovskite semiconductor gain media for amplified spontaneous emission and lasing applications

Tien Khee Ng et al.

Summary: The review focuses on the development of laser and ASE devices in the visible wavelength regime using group-III-nitride and halide-perovskite semiconductors. While the former is well established in the violet-blue-green region, the latter shows promise in solution-based processing and wavelength-tunability, promoting easy heterogeneous integration for a new class of hybrid semiconductor light emitters. The encouraging properties of halide-perovskite semiconductors, such as absence of lattice-matching limitations, direct bandgaps, and excellent carrier transport, inspire researchers to explore new possibilities for novel electrical injection devices designed for lasing and operating-wavelength tuning.

Structural, electronics and optical properties of sodium based fluoroperovskites NaXF3 (X = Ca, Mg, Sr and Zn): First principles calculations

Mohammad Reda Kabli et al.

Summary: A theoretical study was conducted on the electronic, optical, and structural properties of sodium-based cubic fluoro-perovskite NaXF3 compounds, revealing stable cubic structures and distinctive electronic band structures. NaZnF3 was found to be a semiconductor, while NaCaF3, NaMgF3, and NaSrF3 exhibited insulating behavior. The wide energy transparency of the hypothetical dielectric function suggests potential applications in optoelectronics for absorbing ultraviolet light.
