Investigations of coal beneficiation by using choline chloride and urea-based deep eutectic solvent

Summary: This study investigates the interaction, influence, and dissolution properties of coal samples treated with deep eutectic solvent (DES). The results show that DES treatment significantly alters the swelling behavior, composition analysis, and FTIR spectrum of the coal samples. The DES treatment reduces the oxygen-carrying and phenolic vibrational groups, increases the fixed carbon content, and decreases the ash content of the coal samples, making them more suitable for industrial applications.
