Effect of C60-SiO2hybrid nanoparticles on thermophysical and tribological properties of a multigrade engine oil: an experimental study

Seyed Hadi Rostamian et al.

Summary: This study investigates the thermophysical and tribological properties of a hybrid nanofluid containing fullerene-silica nanoparticles in a multigrade engine oil. The results show that the nanofluid exhibits an increased thermal conductivity and non-Newtonian shear thinning behavior. The concentration of nanoparticles also affects the dynamic viscosity of the nanofluid. The wear rate is reduced compared to the base oil when using the nanofluid. Additionally, a precise equation is presented to predict the viscosity of the nanofluid based on experimental data.

Experimental study on cooling performance of water-based hybrid nanofluid with PCM and graphene nanoparticles

C. J. Ho et al.

Summary: The experimental study explored the cooling performance of water-based hybrid nanofluid with PCM and graphene nanoparticles in a tube, showing that using nanoemulsion with PCM nanoparticles as coolant effectively reduces wall temperature and enhances heat dissipation efficiency, though the increased viscosity downgrades its highest figure of merit. Furthermore, adding graphene nanoparticles to the nanoemulsion leads to significant enhancement in heat transfer effectiveness.

Effect of hybrid nanofluid on heat transfer performance of parabolic trough solar collector receiver

Recep Ekiciler et al.

Summary: This study investigates the three-dimensional heat transfer and flow characteristics of different hybrid nanofluids in a parabolic trough solar collector receiver under turbulent flow conditions. Results show that hybrid nanofluids outperform the base fluid in terms of heat transfer and flow features, with heat transfer enhancement correlated to Reynolds number and nanoparticle volume fraction. Among the tested nanofluids, Ag-MgO/Syltherm 800 with 4.0% nanoparticle volume fraction is identified as the most efficient working fluid for the PTC receiver.

Thermal-hydraulic analysis and irreversibility of the MWCNTs-SiO2/EG-H2O non-Newtonian hybrid nanofluids inside a zigzag micro-channels heat sink

Abdulwahab A. Alnaqi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the cooling effect of a micro-heat sink using hybrid nanofluids, and explores the impacts of different factors on thermal hydraulic and irreversibility. The results show that increasing flow velocity enhances heat dissipation, while increasing zigzag channel length improves surface heat transfer but also increases pressure drop. Additionally, higher nanoparticle and MWCNTs concentrations lead to increased viscosity and pumping power.

Iman Fazeli et al.

Summary: In this study, a new stability method using a mixture of surfactants was employed to prepare a hybrid nanofluid containing MWCNT-CuO as the cold fluid in a brazed plate heat exchanger. The stability of the hybrid nanofluid with a specific surfactant mixture was found to be suitable, showing no sedimentation. Furthermore, the convective heat transfer coefficient of the hybrid nanofluid showed significant increases compared to water under different volume flow rates, with the highest increase reaching 139.19%.
