Achievement of giant cryogenic refrigerant capacity in quinary rare-earths based high-entropy amorphous alloy

Yikun Zhang et al.

Summary: Magnetic refrigeration is a highly promising solid state environmentally friendly and high-efficiency alternative method to gas compression cooling. This study investigates the microstructure, magnetic, and magnetocaloric properties of a quinary high-entropy amorphous alloy Er20Ho20Gd20Ni20Co20. The alloy exhibits excellent cryogenic magnetocaloric performances and is suitable for cryogenic magnetic refrigeration applications.

Thermal, magnetic and mechanical behavior of large-sized Fe-based amorphous alloy ribbons by twin-roll strip casting

C. Y. Liu et al.

Summary: This study successfully produced cost-effective Fe-based amorphous alloy ribbons with excellent magnetic and thermal stability characteristics using the twin-roll strip casting method. The utterly amorphous structure and superior thermal stability of the alloys resulted in favorable mechanical, magnetic properties, and high manufacturability, indicating twin-roll strip casting as a solution to address poor AFA and size limit in production of amorphous ribbons.

The effects of magnetic field intensity on the magnetic properties of Fe80Si9B11 amorphous alloys during magnetic annealing

Yin Zhang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that increasing the magnetic field intensity during magnetic field annealing can significantly improve the magnetic and mechanical properties of Fe80Si9B11 amorphous alloy. Under a magnetic field of 2.5 x 10-4 T, the magnetic induction, maximum permeability, coercivity, elastic modulus, and hardness of the sample showed substantial enhancements.
