Summary: Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) is a critical antibiotic resistance threat that has spread globally, accumulating resistance to last-line antibiotics. This study found that patient and genomic features were predictive of clinical CRKP infection to a similar extent, highlighting the potential of integrated models for a more holistic understanding of patient clinical trajectories and pathogen adaptation within lineages. These findings emphasize the importance of considering both patient and microbial factors in predicting infections and understanding genetic variation within prevalent epidemic lineages of CRKP.
