Fabrication of SiO2/Al2O3 Composite-Coated TiO2 by Pulsed Chemical Vapor Deposition and Its Applications

Application of pulsed chemical vapor deposition on the SiO2-coated TiO2 production within a rotary reactor at room temperature

Summary: Pulsed chemical vapor deposition (P-CVD) was used to deposit SiO2 films onto TiO2 particles, resulting in enhanced weatherability and inhibited photocatalytic activity. The developed custom-designed rotary reactor and coating process proved to be feasible and convenient for scale-up production. Comparisons with traditional wet chemical deposition showed that P-CVD produced thinner but denser films with better photoactivity suppression performance.

Summary: In this study, TiO2@ZrO2@SiO2@MAA nanocomposites were prepared using the wet chemical deposition method, with different morphologies of coating layers achieved by adjusting pH values. The resulting nanocomposites exhibited improved whiteness, brightness, reduced photocatalytic activity, and good dispersion stability in water.

Microplasma-assisted electrochemical synthesis of ZnO nanostructures for photocatalytic and antibacterial applications

Summary: Zinc oxide nanostructures were successfully synthesized using a microplasma electrochemical technique in this study, and their morphological, structural, optical, and electrical properties were characterized. The results showed that the ZnO nanostructures exhibited high crystallinity, semiconductor behavior, and strong antibacterial and photocatalytic activities. This research contributes to the development of low-cost and effective materials for removing microorganisms and toxic industrial dyes, which pose a serious threat to terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.
