Work Function of TiO2 (Anatase, Rutile, and Brookite) Single Crystals: Effects of the Environment

Vera Mansfeldova et al.

Summary: Research shows that the position of the Fermi level and the conduction band minimum on various TiO2 single-crystal surfaces significantly depend on the sample environment. The conduction band minimum changes in the series: anatase < rutile < brookite. Photoelectron spectra in water vapor reveal a noticeable upshift of the conduction band.

Bifacial Heterojunction Back Contact Solar Cell: 29-mW/cm2 Output Power Density in Standard Albedo Condition

Takaya Sugiura et al.

Summary: The proposed c-Si solar cell design based on bifacial heterojunction back contact with a transparent conductive oxide (TCO) shows that point contact with ITO is the most optimal among the evaluated schemes. By applying ITO to form a full-contact area covering the amorphous Si region, a maximum power density of 29 mW/cm(2) is achieved, representing an 8% improvement over the monofacial condition at 20% albedo.
