Progesterone supplementation in natural cycles improves live birth rates after embryo transfer of frozen-thawed embryos-a randomized controlled trial

Summary: This study systematically reviewed and meta-analyzed whether luteal phase support (LPS) following natural cycle frozen embryo transfer (NC-FET) improves reproductive outcomes. The results indicated that progesterone LPS was associated with higher clinical pregnancy and live birth rates, while hCG administration for LPS did not show significant improvement. Further large randomized controlled trials are needed to validate these findings.

Cumulative live birth rate after IVF: trend over time and the impact of blastocyst culture and vitrification

Summary: The study shows that cumulative live birth rate per oocyte aspiration has significantly increased over an 11-year period, from 27.0% to 36.3%, in parallel with an increase in blastocyst transfer and vitrification. The findings suggest that blastocyst transfer, especially in frozen embryo transfer cycles using vitrification, is a key factor contributing to the improved live birth rates over time.
