Natural Enantiomers: Occurrence, Biogenesis and Biological Properties

Jin-Hai Yu et al.

Summary: The knowledge that natural products can modulate important biomacromolecules has led to the discovery of successful pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. However, the study of naturally occurring pairs of enantiomers is still largely unexplored. This review provides an overview of recent records on natural enantiomers, aiming to increase awareness and understanding of their chemical diversity, biological properties, and therapeutic potential.

An evidence update on the protective mechanism of tangeretin against neuroinflammation based on network pharmacology prediction and transcriptomic analysis

Shuo Lv et al.

Summary: This study utilized network pharmacology and transcriptome approaches to uncover the potential anti-inflammatory mechanism of tangeretin in human microglial cells. The findings suggest that tangeretin may exert its protective effects on neuroinflammation by downregulating the expression of VEGFA, EGFR, InsR, and IGF-1 receptor in the PI3K-AKT, MAPK, mTOR signaling pathway. Moreover, the study provides new insights and proposes novel information for further anti-inflammatory mechanism studies.
