From protection to non-protection: A mixed methods study investigating movement, posture and recovery from disabling low back pain

Patients' conceptions of undergoing physiotherapy for persistent low back pain delivered in Finnish primary healthcare by physiotherapists who had participated in brief training in cognitive functional therapy

Summary: This study aimed to explore the conceptions of patients with persistent low back pain regarding physiotherapy delivered in Finnish primary healthcare by physiotherapists who had received brief training in Cognitive Functional Therapy (CFT). The findings revealed significant variation in patients' conceptions, with some experiencing limited access to care and lack of social support. However, positive experiences of physiotherapy, good collaboration with the physiotherapist, wider social support, understanding of pain's multidimensional nature, and acquisition of self-management skills were reported as positive aspects of undergoing physiotherapy that may lead to positive treatment outcomes.
