Systematic review of the psychometric properties of the Victorian Institute of Sports Assessment - Achilles tendinopathy questionnaire

Ana Belen Ortega-Avila et al.

Summary: This systematic review evaluated the psychometric properties and methodological quality of different versions of the Victorian Institute of Sports Assessment - Achilles questionnaire for Achilles tendinopathy. Findings revealed significant methodological flaws, particularly in construct validity and responsiveness. Cultural adaptations of the Spanish and Brazilian-Portuguese VISA-A showed adequate methodological quality, although further studies with greater rigor are necessary for cultural adaptations of measurement instruments.

Measures of Attention in Rett Syndrome: Internal Consistency Reliability

Susan A. Rose et al.

Summary: The study found that critical aspects of attention can be reliably assessed in RTT with gaze-based tasks, showing good psychometric reliability for key measures from tasks assessing sustained attention and disengaging/shifting attention, while the reliability of measures assessing selective attention is limited.

Comparative systematic review of the psychometric properties of measures of illness perceptions in family members of individuals diagnosed with a chronic physical illness

Chloe Fletcher et al.

Summary: Illness perceptions have significant implications for psychological morbidity in individuals with physical illnesses, but the relationship with their family members remains understudied. The review assessed the psychometric properties of instruments used to measure illness perceptions in family members, highlighting a lack of validation for instruments measuring illness perceptions in children or siblings of individuals with chronic physical illnesses. Further research in this area is needed to fill this gap in understanding illness perceptions in family members.
