The neural correlates of amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation: a multimodal resting-state MEG and fMRI-EEG study

Jianfeng Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the neural correlates of fMRI-ALFF by comparing the amplitude differences between eyes-closed and eyes-open states in fMRI and MEG. The results show that MEG-ALFF increases at parietal sensors, overlapping with the EC-EO differences observed in fMRI. These findings suggest that the amplitude in MEG reflects distinct physiological information and that fMRI-ALFF may be related to the ALFF in neural activity.

Patterns of a structural covariance network associated with dispositional optimism during late adolescence

Han Lai et al.

Summary: This study investigated the intrinsic neurodevelopmental patterns associated with interindividual differences in optimism and found that optimism was positively related to global and local efficiency in the cortical gyrification covariance network. It was also linked to a pronounced betweenness centrality pattern.

COVID-19 vicarious traumatization links functional connectome to general distress

Xueling Suo et al.

Summary: This study aims to explore the relationship between vicarious traumatization and general distress during the COVID-19 pandemic and identify the brain functional connectivity associated with vicarious traumatization. The results showed that the negative network model could predict individuals' scores of vicarious traumatization, with functional connectivity primarily distributed in different brain networks. Furthermore, the study found that vicarious traumatization mediated the influence of brain functional connectivity on general distress. These findings are important for understanding and predicting individuals' psychological distress.

Summary: The study provides an integrated delineation of gray matter substrates related to trait impulsivity, highlighting volumetric GM alterations in prefrontal, temporal, and parietal cortices. Furthermore, the modulatory effects of age and gender in impulsivity-GM volume associations were identified, advancing understanding of brain GM morphometry features underlying trait impulsivity with potential implications for clinical diagnosis and intervention.
