Significance of early recurrence of atrial fibrillation after catheter ablation: a nationwide Danish cohort study

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between early and late recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmias after ablation for atrial fibrillation in a nationwide cohort. The results suggest that a higher frequency and later onset of early recurrence are significantly associated with a higher odds of late recurrence. Therefore, a case-by-case assessment is recommended when evaluating candidates for re-ablation instead of relying on an arbitrary blanking period.
