Association of chronic kidney disease with exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the US population

Humairat H. Rahman et al.

Summary: The study revealed a significant association between urinary 2-hydroxynaphthalene concentration and chronic kidney disease (CKD), while the other six forms of urinary PAHs were not correlated with CKD. Additionally, Non-Hispanic Black individuals, older age, and underweight or obese BMIs were significantly associated with increased odds of CKD.
