The results showed that unmodified and modified agro-based adsorbents exhibited the highest Pb(II) adsorption capacity compared to other types of adsorbents, indicating their potential for further exploration.

Summary: In this study, recyclable Fe3O4-functionalized MIL101(Fe) chitosan composite beads were synthesized for efficient removal of tetracycline, doxycycline, and ciprofloxacin antibiotics from water. The beads showed high removal efficiency (>99%) for all antibiotics under optimum conditions, and demonstrated excellent regeneration ability for up to 5 cycles. The adsorption mechanism involved pi-pi interaction, H-bonding, and electrostatic interaction between the antibiotics and the adsorbent. Enhanced Cr(VI) stabilization in soil by chitosan/bentonite composites

CSBT could reduce the content of exchangeable and oxidizable forms of chromium, while increasing the content of residual form. The addition of 0.2 g.kg(-1) CSBT had the best effect, with the concentration of exchangeable, reducible and oxidizable forms decreased by 46.74%, 8.15%, and 14.46%, respectively. The amino, carboxyl, and hydroxyl groups of CSBT promoted the conversion of available chromium to residual state in soil, and reduced the bioavailability of chromium in soil.

Adsorption of As(V) by magnetic alginate-chitosan porous beads based on iron sludge

Optimal conditions included 25 mg/L of adsorbate concentration, 60 minutes equilibrium time, 2.5 g of fungal biomass, temperature of 303 K, and pH of 5.0. Langmuir isotherm model showed high correlation, while pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order kinetics were found to be suitable for Cu(II) ion and Reactive Green dye removal.
