Revealing the modulation of boundary conditions and governing processes on ozone formation over northern China in June 2017

Feifan Yan et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of different boundary conditions on the vertical distribution of ozone over urban Beijing. The global chemical transport model provided more reasonable performance compared to clean and static boundary conditions. Dynamic emission control strategies were proposed to reduce ozone concentration during pollution periods, showing significant efficacy when considering both accumulation and transport effects.

Decadal application of WRF/Chem over the continental US: Simulation design, sensitivity simulations, and climatological model evaluation

Kai Wang et al.

Summary: The WRF/Chem v3.7 model was used to simulate meteorological and air quality processes over the continental U.S. from 2001 to 2010. The study included comprehensive evaluations of the model performance and sensitivity simulations to determine optimal model configurations. Performance evaluations show good agreement with available data and the simulation lays the foundation for more accurate projections of future climate and air quality.
