Development of a quantitative chemical risk assessment (QCRA) procedure for contaminants of emerging concern in drinking water supply

Beatrice Cantoni et al.

Summary: This study introduces a new probabilistic quantitative chemical risk assessment (QCRA) procedure for assessing the health risk of emerging contaminants in drinking water, quantifying probabilistic risk and providing more insight compared to traditional chemical risk assessment.

Bisphenol A leaching from epoxy resins in the drinking water distribution networks as human health risk determinant

Beatrice Cantoni et al.

Summary: This study conducted migration tests on three commercial epoxy resins to establish a BPA migration model, which was then combined with the hydraulic model of the DWDN to simulate the propagation of BPA in the network. This allowed for the identification of vulnerable areas and customization of a site-specific monitoring and intervention plan to minimize health risks for consumers.
