Chlorinated Flame-Retardant Dechlorane 602 Potentiates Type 2 Innate Lymphoid Cells and Exacerbates Airway Inflammation

Pengcheng Zhou et al.

Summary: Recent research has shown that the chlorinated flame-retardant dechlorane 602 exacerbates airway inflammation in mice models induced by house dust mite or IL-33. The effects are linked to increased production of type 2 cytokines and proinflammatory cytokines, providing important immunological insights for further studies on the health impact of emerging flame-retardant dechloranes including Dec 602.

Dysbiosis of fecal microbiota in cats with naturally occurring and experimentally induced Tritrichomonas foetus infection

Metzere Bierlein et al.

Summary: The study aimed to characterize differences in fecal microbiota of cats with and without T. foetus infection and in experimentally infected kittens. Naturally infected cats showed increased prevalence and abundance of Megamonas and Helicobacter genera, while experimentally infected kittens had lower abundance of Dialister and Megamonas and higher abundance of Betaproteobacteria class and Succinivibrionaceae family post-infection.

Bioactive Compounds in Edible Oils and Their Role in Oxidative Stress and Inflammation

Alessandra Mazzocchi et al.

Summary: Edible fats and oils, particularly those containing polyunsaturated fatty acids and phenolic compounds, may have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory effects, contributing to the prevention of chronic diseases. Additionally, a high content of monounsaturated fatty acids in edible oils may improve lipid profiles and reduce damage caused by oxidized lipoproteins and free radicals.
