Robust Load Frequency Control Using Fractional-order TID-PD Approach Via Salp Swarm Algorithm

Summary: This paper proposes a new load frequency control approach using a dual-stage controller composed of fractional-order tilted-integral-derivative and integer-order proportional-derivative controllers. The proposed scheme exhibits robustness and fast disturbance rejection performance and improves transient response. The control approach is further enhanced by incorporating flexible AC transmission system and energy storage system. Simulation results show improved frequency regulation activity compared to other approaches.

Renewable sources-based automatic load frequency control of interconnected systems using chaotic atom search optimization

Additionally, the proposed algorithm is applied to solve the automatic load frequency control (ALFC) problem in a multi-area, multi-source hybrid power system (HPS), and the results show significant improvement compared to the ASO algorithm. The stability and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm are further analyzed through sensitivity analysis and real-time application testing.
