The impact of feed-in tariff reduction and renewable portfolio standard on the development of distributed photovoltaic generation in China

Libo Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper explores the impact of FIT reduction and the introduction of RPS on DPVG development in China. FIT reductions have a short-term negative effect on DPVG installations, but can be gradually reduced without sacrificing the grid parity goal. After FITs are cancelled, RPS can effectively help continue the trend towards grid parity.

Using green finance to counteract the adverse effects of COVID-19 pandemic on renewable energy investment-The case of offshore wind power in China

Qiang Tu et al.

Summary: The study shows that the average levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) of offshore wind power decreased from 0.86 CNY/kWh in 2014 to 0.72 CNY/kWh in 2019, but increased to 0.79 CNY/kWh in 2020, showing a 10.85% increase from 2019. With the introduction of green finance policies such as carbon pricing, tradable green certificate (TGC) and green credit, the average LCOE decreased to 0.76 CNY/kWh, 0.67 CNY/kWh and 0.74 CNY/kWh respectively, making it essential to support offshore wind power investments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Distributed solar photovoltaic development potential and a roadmap at the city level in China

Yu Wang et al.

Summary: China has the world's largest PV market with cumulative installation capacity exceeding 200 GW in 2019. However, to reach the ambitious target of 1200 GW by 2030, efforts are still needed. The uneven distribution of distributed PV resources in Chinese cities requires targeted policies for development.
