Theoretical analysis of annular thermoelectric generators made of functionally graded materials

Wei Niu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the temperature field distribution and thermoelectric conversion efficiency of annular thermoelectric generators with functionally graded materials. Using the power series method, numerical studies were conducted on FGM TE generators with different variations in material parameters, providing theoretical guidance for optimization of such generators. The results showed that material parameters play a significant role in the efficiency of the generators.

An analytical model for performance prediction and optimization of thermoelectric generators with varied leg cross-sections

Pan Wang et al.

Summary: This study proposed an analytical model for optimizing thermoelectric generators by considering temperature-dependent material properties and different leg cross-sections, with a focus on leg geometry optimization which showed that minimizing leg resistance and increasing leg volume can enhance output power and efficiency. Applying the model to a commercial TEG module, significant improvements of up to 43.1% in output power and 9.67% in efficiency were achieved.

Thermoelectric performance and stress analysis on wearable thermoelectric generator under bending load

Shifa Fan et al.

Summary: A three-dimensional model of wearable TEGs encapsulated in PDMS material was established to investigate their thermoelectric performance and mechanical reliability under bending loads. The study examined the effects of leg shape, filling factor, and leg height on the performance of wearable TEGs, and suggested that increasing the number of thermocouples can enhance thermoelectric performance and flexibility.
