Adsorption of CO2, CO, NH3, NO2 and NO on g-C3N5 surface by first-principles calculations

Xing Hong Cai et al.

Summary: The study investigates the adsorption of small gas molecules on g-C3N5 surface using density functional theory calculations. It finds that NO has the lowest adsorption energy on g-C3N5 compared to other gas molecules, as well as exhibiting p-type conductivity.

Investigation of Cu/Zn/Ag/Mo-based impregnated activated carbon for the removal of toxic gases, synthesized in aqueous media

Sidra Shaoor Kiani et al.

Summary: Impregnated activated carbons (IACs) prepared from various metal solutions showed enhanced adsorption capability for SO2 and NO2 gases compared to raw activated carbons (RAC), with a significant increase in breakthrough time. The combination of copper, zinc, silver, and molybdenum on activated carbon demonstrated the highest adsorption efficiency, achieving breakthrough times 13-25 times higher than RAC, with adsorption capacities up to 320 mg SO2/g-C and 380 mg NO2/g-C.

NO2-NH3 SCR over Activated Carbon: A Combination of NH4NO3 Formation and Consumption

Xiao Zhu et al.

Summary: Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO2 by NH3 over activated carbon (AC) was studied, showing that NC% conversion was higher at NO2/NOx = 1.0 compared to lower ratios, and NH4NO3 deposition occurred below 150 degrees C but not above. Steady-state NOx conversion increased with temperature, reaching 79.5% at 210 degrees C.

Study of the Porous Structure and High Adsorption Capacity of Biomass-Based Activated Carbon Prepared from Aspen Wood by Ferric Nitrate III Activation

Chunjiang Jin et al.

Summary: In this study, aspen wood sawdust and Fe(NO3)(3) were used to produce activated carbon powder (ACP) through physicochemical activation. The mass ratio of Fe(NO3)(3) and aspen wood sawdust significantly impacted the pore structure of ACP. Fe-AC-0.3 exhibited the best adsorption capacity for ethyl acetate among the examined samples.
