Boosting capacitive performance of manganese oxide nanorods by decorating with three-dimensional crushed graphene

Akter Hossain Reaz et al.

Summary: This work presents the rational design of MnOx nanorods on 3D crushed reduced graphene oxide (MnOx/C-rGO) through chemical reduction and etching. The resulting composite exhibits enhanced specific capacitance and superior capacitive performance, attributed to the integration of MnOx and 3D C-rGO.

Structure-Activity Relationship of Lanthanide-Incorporated Nano-Hydroxyapatite for the Adsorption of Fluoride and Lead

A. K. D. Veromee Kalpana Wimalasiri et al.

Summary: The demand for water purification has led to the development of lanthanide-incorporated nano-hydroxyapatite composites for effective removal of fluoride and lead ions in contaminated water bodies. Among the composites, HAP·CeO2·La(OH)3 (3:2) showed the highest recorded fluoride removal capacity of 625 mg/g. Characterization and analysis of the composites indicated a chemisorptive behavior and high feasibility for fluoride and lead ion adsorption.

Electrocoagulation as an affordable technology for decontamination of drinking water containing fluoride: A critical review

Locksley F. Castaneda et al.

Summary: This review examines the removal of fluoride from natural groundwater using electrocoagulation, with aluminum and aluminum alloys proving to be the most effective materials for fluoride removal. Iron, on the other hand, does not meet WHO guidelines for fluoride removal. The use of parallel plate continuous EC reactors allows for flow rate control and uniform electrode wear, with relatively low operating costs.
