Serum Markers of Refractoriness and Enteropathy-Associated T-Cell Lymphoma in Coeliac Disease

Marco Vincenzo Lenti et al.

Summary: This study found that the serum markers chromogranin A and beta 2-microglobulin can predict complications in patients with coeliac disease. Both markers were significantly higher in patients with refractory CD compared to uncomplicated CD, with high sensitivity and specificity for differentiating the two. These markers could be useful in identifying patients who require further diagnostic procedures for refractory CD.
