Hepatic Fibrosis and Steatosis in Metabolic Syndrome

Venu Gopala Reddy Gangireddy et al.

Summary: This study investigates the relationship between metabolic syndrome (MetS) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and finds a bidirectional association. The presence of MetS significantly increases the risk of hepatic fibrosis and steatosis. Thus, MetS should be considered as an independent risk factor for hepatic fibrosis.

Association between mesenteric panniculitis and non-neoplastic disorders

Serra Ozbal Gunes et al.

Summary: The study aimed to assess the relationship between mesenteric panniculitis (MP) and coexisting non-neoplastic disorders. It was found that metabolic syndrome (MetS) and urogenital diseases were significantly more common in MP patients compared to the control group. These findings suggest a clinically relevant association between MP, MetS, and urogenital diseases.
