A comparative pan-genomic analysis of 53C. pseudotuberculosisstrains based on functional domains

Juliana S. Bernardes et al.

Summary: Analysis of the pan-genome of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis revealed that the equi biovar is more variable, with a higher number of biovar-specific domains associated with virulence mechanisms. Functional differences were identified between strains of the ovis and equi biovars, potentially related to niche-adaptation and virulence mechanisms. This may impact bacterial physiology and lifestyle, and could lead to the development of new diagnostics, vaccines, and treatments for C. pseudotuberculosis diseases.

Peptide vaccines designed with the aid of immunoinformatic against Caseous Lymphadenitis promotes humoral and cellular response induction in mice

Daniela Droppa-Almeida et al.

Summary: The study showed that peptide vaccines designed against CLA did not provide sufficient protection, but some experimental groups showed some level of protection. These peptide vaccines activated a Th1 type response, but some experimental groups also showed IL-17 production. Future research may need to combine adjuvants based on PAMPs to enhance the immune response.
