Effect of Zr on phase separation, mechanical and corrosion behavior of heterogeneous CoCrFeNiZrx high-entropy alloy

Wu Qi et al.

Summary: The effects of Zr content on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance of CoCrFeNi high entropy alloy were investigated. Reasonable control of Zr content can enhance the alloy's comprehensive properties, especially CoCrFeNiZr0.25 alloy, which has higher yield strength, good ductility, and better corrosion resistance compared to SS304.

Enhanced corrosion and wear resistance of gradient graphene-CrC nanocomposite coating on stainless steel

Mengdi Zhang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated the preparation of graphene-CrC nanocomposite coatings on stainless steel using mechanical ball milling, significantly improving the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. The graphene coatings were strongly bonded on the stainless steel surface by C-Cr bonding, leading to a remarkable reduction in corrosion rates at temperatures between 293-328K.

Evaluation of corrosion resistance of the single-phase light refractory high entropy alloy TiCrVNb0.5Al0.5 in chloride environment

Mengjiao Li et al.

Summary: A low density refractory high entropy alloy of composition TiCrVNb0.5Al0.5 was prepared by vacuum arc melting, exhibiting excellent corrosion resistance in chloride environment. The single-phase BCC structure with uniform element distribution and a gradient passive film contribute to the low corrosion current density, high breakdown potential, and excellent repassivation ability of the alloy.

Microstructures and mechanical properties of CrFeNi2Nbx eutectic multicomponent alloys

Won-hyuk Lee et al.

Summary: The effects of Nb content on microstructures and mechanical properties in Co-free CrFeNi2Nbx alloys were investigated. Increasing Nb content led to changes in microstructures and improved mechanical properties, with a reduction in ductility. The CrFeNi2Nb0.6 alloy achieved a high maximum fracture strength.
