Review on modelling of corrosion under droplet electrolyte for predicting atmospheric corrosion rate

Bangalore Gangadharacharya Koushik et al.

Summary: Atmospheric corrosion of metals is a common type of corrosion, with oxygen content in dew drops leading to different corrosion mechanisms. The dynamic change in droplet shapes influences the evolution of corrosion mechanisms.

The dependence of drop evaporation rate and wettability on corrosion kinetics

S. Y. Misyura

Summary: Experimental study shows that the corrosion of aluminum alloy significantly affects the kinetics of droplet evaporation, controlling the wettability and evaporation rate of the droplet. The decrease in evaporation rate can be attributed to the reduction in heat supply caused by corrosion.

Editors' Choice-Natural Convection Boundary Layer Thickness at Elevated Chloride Concentrations and Temperatures and the Effects on a Galvanic Couple

R. M. Katona et al.

Summary: The study investigated the influence of natural convection boundary layer on the cathodic current in a galvanic couple, showing that the boundary layer thickness decreases with increasing chloride concentration and temperature, resulting in increased mass transport. Finite Element Modeling was used to calculate the cathodic current, revealing a decrease in cathodic current with increasing chloride concentration and an increase with temperature.
