Moisture diffusion in cement pastes with hydrophobic agent

Hao Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the influence of carboxylic acid ammonium salt on the hydrophobicity of cement-based materials and investigates its effects on hydrophobicity, moisture diffusion, and hydration products through experimental methods. The results show that the addition of carboxylic acid ammonium salt increases pore volume, and proposes an analytical hydrodynamic model to analyze the relationship between pore characteristic parameters and cementitious materials permeability.

Impact of water repellent agent concentration on the effect of hydrophobization on building materials

Summary: The study introduces the concept of material-dependent critical agent concentration for hydrophobization treatment, which is the lowest concentration needed to ensure a hydrophobic effect on a specific material. Results show that different materials require different minimum agent concentrations to significantly modify their hygric properties.
