INTEDE: interactome of drug-metabolizing enzymes

Jiayi Yin et al.

Summary: INTEDE is a database providing interaction data of drug-metabolizing enzymes (DMEs), including microbiome-DME, xenobiotics-DME, and host protein-DME interactions. The comprehensive collection and provision of multiple types of interaction data enable crosstalk analysis among various types, serving as important reference for future precision medicine practice. Furthermore, the vast amount of accumulated data in INTEDE allows for the generalization of key features to reveal disease etiology and optimize clinical treatment.

Antiviral phytochemicals as potent inhibitors against NS3 protease of dengue virus

Md. Mahbubur Rahman et al.

Summary: The study focused on finding potential inhibitors against the NS3 protease of the dengue virus through systematic screening. Among 40 antiviral phytochemicals, Cyanidin 3-Glucoside, Dithymoquinone, and Glabridin were predicted to be potent inhibitors based on their binding affinity. The ligand-protein complexes were further analyzed through molecular dynamics simulation and binding free energy calculation to investigate their binding stability, indicating potential effectiveness of these inhibitors.

Natural products for treatment of Plasmodium falciparum malaria: An integrated computational approach

Ziyad Tariq Muhseen et al.

Summary: This study identified four bioactive compounds from medicinal plants as potential inhibitors of PfDXR, showing enhanced efficacy and adequate physiochemical/pharmacokinetic profile. The selection of these compounds was based on various factors, such as pharmacophore mapping, docking score, binding stability, and molecular interactions with the residues of PfDXR active site.

Effects of human serum albumin on post-mortem changes of malathion

Yoshikazu Yamagishi et al.

Summary: This study detected malathion adducts in human serum albumin using liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry, revealing that malathion preferentially binds to lysine and cysteinylproline residues of HSA. In vitro experiments showed that the levels of K and CP adducts of malathion increased dose-dependently when the concentration was lower than the lethal dose. Additionally, the K-adduct was detected in post-mortem blood of an individual who intentionally ingested malathion, suggesting its potential use as a biomarker for malathion poisoning.
