Comprehensive analysis of ferroptosis-related genes and prognosis of cutaneous melanoma

Changjiang Liu et al.

Summary: This study used bioinformatics technology to analyze the RNA sequencing expression data of cutaneous melanoma and constructed a prognostic signature. It identified ferroptosis-related biomarkers that can improve the prognosis and treatment of cutaneous melanoma. The results showed that the signature can predict the prognosis of cutaneous melanoma better than conventional factors. Two genes (CP, ZEB1) were found to have independent prognostic ability and can be applied for treatment guidance.

LncRNA-mediated DNA methylation: an emerging mechanism in cancer and beyond

Wanxu Huang et al.

Summary: DNA methylation is a crucial epigenetic mechanism that regulates gene expression, and aberrant patterns of DNA methylation are associated with human diseases such as cancer. This review provides an overview of the current understanding of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)-mediated DNA methylation, with a focus on its roles in cancer. The potential clinical applications of this mechanism in RNA-targeting drug development are also discussed.

The Potential Roles of Exosomal Non-Coding RNAs in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Wei Wang et al.

Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly prevalent and deadly cancer with low diagnostic rates. Exosomes, as extracellular vesicles released by various cells, including tumor cells, play a crucial role in HCC progression. Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) in exosomes have been identified as important regulators of tumor development. In this review, we discuss the formation and uptake of exosomes, classification of exosomal ncRNAs, and the current research on their roles in HCC progression. Additionally, we explore the potential clinical applications of exosomal ncRNAs as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets in HCC.

Long Non-Coding RNA in Esophageal Cancer: A Review of Research Progress

Chenbo Yang et al.

Summary: Significant progress has been made in the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal cancer in recent years. However, the lack of early diagnosis strategies and treatment targets hinders the prognosis of patients. The discovery of long-chain non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) and their important regulatory role in tumor development offers potential biomarkers and treatment targets. Abnormal expression of LncRNAs leads to tumor cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and treatment resistance.
